Sensei Daisy started training in Feb 1996 with Sensei Paul.  She achieved the rank of Shodan on November 6, 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Nidan on December 28, 2002. She assisted Sensei Paul in facilitating and organizing the Aloha State Games - Karate from 1996 to 2003. She is also a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (A.A.U.) since 1996 to 2005.  She gave birth to their son Angelo Paul Armani Ortino on May 21, 2006.
