Ed Duffee began train with Koyshi Paul Ortino while stationed at Schofield Barracks Hawaii in 1992.  Sensei Duffee was promoted to the rank of Shodon in 1996 under the Okinawa Kenpo system.

Relocating back to the mainland with the military Sensei Duffee continued his martial arts training in Okinawa Kenpo as well as Judo and Aikido.  After leaving the military Sensei Duffee relocated to New Jersey, continuing training in Aikido and Hwarang Do.  Sensei Duffee formed the Bound Brook Karate Club and taught the Oknawa Kenpo System in 2004.  

Sensei Duffee is moving back to his hometown of Tallahassee Florida in May of 2006 to open Dharma-Ryu Dojo of Tallahassee.
